Porter Pipe Sculptures and more

My Welding

After my time at TSTI, I worked as a plumber for a year until my welding career began in 1976. I have 48 years of welding experience under my belt that has lent to my creations in increasingly complicated sculptures. It also made building my last 3 homes myself much more accessible.

My Woodwork

I started using wood in my art in 2022. However, the idea first came from a piece of local pecan  I had milled from a street expansion in 2009. That is where I first started experiencing. I, of course, have much more experience with woodwork from my years with construction as well. With that knowledge, I trimmed my most recent house's windows, baseboard, doors, native mesquite and pecan myself

A few words about me

My welding journey started in a simple 3-day ag class in my high school. That class led me to enroll in TSTI in 1975 for welding.

The beginning of my artistic journey started from a Hospital visit to my mother. The sculptures in the courtyard gave me inspiration to express myself. Once I made my first piece I found a new passion in my life for creating these artworks. I only started selling my pieces after the advise of a dear friend.
