My offer

My Welding
After my time at TSTI, I worked as a plumber for a year until my welding career began in 1976. I have 48 years of welding experience under my belt that has lent to my creations in increasingly complicated sculptures. It also made building my last 3 homes myself much more accessible.
My Woodwork
I started using wood in my art in 2022. However, the idea first came from a piece of local pecan I had milled from a street expansion in 2009. That is where I first started experiencing. I, of course, have much more experience with woodwork from my years with construction as well. With that knowledge, I trimmed my most recent house's windows, baseboard, doors, native mesquite and pecan myself

About me

A few words about me
My welding journey started in a simple 3-day ag class in my high school. That class led me to enroll in TSTI in 1975 for welding.
The beginning of my artistic journey started from a Hospital visit to my mother. The sculptures in the courtyard gave me inspiration to express myself. Once I made my first piece I found a new passion in my life for creating these artworks. I only started selling my pieces after the advise of a dear friend.
My Family
I lived in Lockhart, Texas since 1980. I have been married to my lovely wife Jane for 46 years. We had 3 kids, who have gone on to have children of their own, giving me 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
My Art
I have had 3 pieces featured in the Lost Pines Art Center in Bastrop, TX. I have a permanent sculpture in Bastrop next to the Old Iron Bridge walking path over the Colorado River on Chestnut Street.
My Career
Started welding in Tandum Texas in a 4 unit powerhouse, moved in 1979 and worked 3 different cement plants over 4 years, got into the oil field of welding and worked as a contractor in a chemical plant in Austin TX at the same time. Then I retired in 2018 and started making my art.
